~FREEDOM ARTS ~ ENGAGE ~ EMPOWER ~ CONNECT ~

Barefoot Caravan’s Freedom Arts program is a creative outlet for children and youth in various schools, communities and festivals throughout Western Canada. Since summer 2014 the members of Barefoot Caravan and guest artists have co-written and performed over 100 original songs with children and youth!

The songs reflect the children’s voices and are written in English, French and with the support of local indigenous persons songs reflect the local culture and language.

The participants are guided through the songwriting process as they write their own original songs to be showcased for friends, family and our local community in Castlegar at Kinsmen Park.

Performance Opportunities:

·       Singing
·       Dancing
·       Percussion/Drumming

Freedom Arts is a program that also encompasses various aspects of production.

Production Opportunities:

Freedom Arts engages participants in the facilitation of all the roles necessary to put on a great show. Each program is unique to the group dynamic, synergy and interests of the participants.
